A short survey has been developed which asks Powys businesses how they are coping during the pandemic and what additional support they might need.

The feedback will provide a clearer picture of the current outlook from within the business community and will help the council respond to the needs of local businesses.

Cllr James Evans, Cabinet Member for Economy, Housing and Regulatory Services, said: "Not only do businesses strengthen the economy but they are at the heart of our communities, and we are committed to helping them wherever we can.

"Many businesses have suffered financially whilst others have thrived during this time. We want to formally capture this information through the survey and use it in our recovery plan.

"Your feedback will form a crucial part of our ongoing discussions with Welsh Government, Business Wales and partner organisations as we work together to provide more support.

"As a council we have processed grants worth over £45m to just under 4,000 businesses. This is an astonishing amount which has been well-received, but there is more to do.

"Awarding reliefs and grants remains a priority but I appreciate this doesn't help every business facing financial pressures.

"As we move towards the recovery phase of the pandemic we will look more broadly at support options. The survey will help us with this as we identify businesses who are falling through the cracks.
