Money Handling Advice for Volunteers

Good news for volunteers supporting people in roles that involve handling money.

When it comes to money handling, we feel it is important that the initial first line of support should always be close friends and family. However, if this is not possible, PAVO Community Connectors are available to offer support with any issues. If you are a vulnerable resident of Powys, they can work with you to find voluntary support and solutions in your local community.  If you are a volunteer, they can work with you to find secure and expedient ways of making purchases on behalf of others.

Whilst we can’t make an specific recommendations, market research undertaken by Powys County Council has identified the products in the document attached as potential solutions for people.

In addtition to this the Post Office have now updated and amended their cash payout schemes. More details about the scheme can be found here Post Office Cash Payout Scheme and the sign up form can be found here Post Office Sign Up Form

If you require any further assistance please contact the Community Connectors on 01597 828649 or email them at community.connectors(at)pavo.org.uk.

Please note that this guidance should be read in conjunction with the guidance on pg 5 of the Volunteer Guidance which can be found hereGuidance for Volunteers (Eng) or a welsh version of the same document can be found here Guidance for Volunteers (Cym)

New methods and further guidance will be updated on this document as a when they become available.
