The Woodcock Charitable Trust is a small, family-based grant-making Trust operating out of offices in London. The Trust was founded by Martin Neal Woodcock in 2005 and has 4 trustees who are all members of the Woodcock family.
The Trust appears to be a discretionary funder, meaning that it has the ability to support a wide range of charitable causes. The Charity Commission for England and Wales states that the Trust will support:
o General charitable causes.
o Amateur sport, and
o Children and young people.
The Commission’s entry for the Trust indicates that its grant-making is limited to England and Wales, although – given its location – charities based in London may be more likely to receive grant support.
In recent years, the Trust’s income and expenditure has been below the Charity Commission’s requirement to publish its annual accounts (the Trust’s annual expenditure rarely exceeds £10,000). Any awards made are therefore likely to be for modest amounts.
The most recent published accounts are for the year ended 5th April 2020. These show that grants totalling £30,800 were awarded, as follows:
o Haileybury: £300.
o The Climate Crisis: £5,000.
o The Oli Hilsdon Foundation: £15,000.
o My names Doddie Foundation: £2,000.
o The Alexandra Wylie Tower Foundation: £4,500.
o Duchenne UK: £3,000, and
o The Gurkha Welfare Trust: £1,000.
Please note that the trust does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.
The Trust may be contacted at any time in writing for enquiries about the prospect of grant support.
