The aims of the National Allotment Gardens Trust (please note that the Trust's website appears to be down at the moment, but keep trying the link) are to:
o Advance and improve the allotments or gardens movement by education, training, workshops and support.
o Arrange local training courses.
o Improve the facilities for those who have need for such facilities because of youth, infirmity or disability.
o Provide funding and experience in allotment gardening.
o Provide training for allotment committee members and for people who wish to become involved in the management of allotments, and
o Support committees who wish to take a lease of their site from either local authority or private landlord.
Grants of between £250 to £2,000 are available for UK Allotment Associations and committees for projects that will improve or develop the facilities of permanent and registered allotment sites.
Applicants to the programme should:
o Be officially recognised by the landlord of the site.
o Have a bank account with three signatories.
o Have a forwarding address and named contact, and
o Have a written and signed constitution.
