The Martin Smith Foundation has general charitable objects with the ability to make charitable donations in any part of the world, although the vast majority of grants are made to registered charities in England and Wales.

The Foundation’s main areas of charitable focus are:

o The performing arts.
o Education.
o Ecology and the environment.
o Recreational sport, and
o The relief of poverty.

The day-to-day management of the Foundation is carried out by Sir Martin Smith and Geraldine Conneely, who is the administrator for the charity
