The Lord Cockfield Memorial Trust is a small grant-making charity consisting of just two trustees: Edmund Lowley MLC (Member of the Legislative Council) and Diana Rawston. Both are also trustees of the Lady Monica Cockfield Memorial Trust (also an educational grant-making Trust), while Diana Rawston is, in addition, a trustee of the Cherry Tree Foundation (which makes small one-off grants to talented children in music, drama and the arts), the Capricorn Foundation, the Leysdown Conservation Trust and the Ramsbury Manor Foundation.

The Lord Cockfield Memorial Trust normally awards grants totalling around £100,000 each year. The Trust has general charitable objectives and can support good causes in any part of the world.

During the year ended 5th April 2023, the Trust supported and promoted education within East Africa and provided financial support for students in higher education and for the  advancement of sporting activities.

The Trust awarded grants totalling £104,500 during the year, as follows:

1. Education and other grants: £92,000.
2. Education in East Africa: £12,500.
