The John Spedan Lewis Foundation, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary next year, is normally regarded as modest grant-making Trust.
However, it is currently inviting applications from small UK registered charities with an annual income of less than £1 million to its Nature Grants programme, which will offer grants of between £2,000 and £30,000.
The aim of the programme is to support natural history and wildlife conservation projects and activities, particularly in the following areas:
o Community action and engagement in nature.
o Environmental education.
o Habitat conservation.
o Habitat restoration and rewilding, and
o Research.
While grants of up to £30,000 are available, there is a matched funding requirement for the programme: the Foundation will only provide up to 50% of the total project cost. The remaining project budget must be provided by other sources.
Further information, guidance and an application form is available on the Foundation’s website.
The application deadline is Monday 31st July 2023.
