Small grants, usually of £1,500 are available to UK registered charities and not for profit organisations working in the areas of Hospices, Children and Young People, Support for the Elderly, People with a Disability, Medical Research and Community Projects. The Foundation is likely to prioritise applications from smaller charities operating in the West Midlands.

The aims of the Edgar E. Lawley Foundation are for general charitable purposes with reference to:

o Education purposes with reference to the arts, commerce, and industry.
o Elderly people in need, 
and
o Medicine and medical research.

UK registered charities working in the areas of hospice care, children and young people, people with a disability and general community projects have also been supported by the Foundation in recent years.

The Foundation’s area of benefit is undefined within the United Kingdom, although traditionally it has given assistance to smaller charities in the West Midlands area

Grants tend to be in the region of £1,500. The Foundation’s preference is to award unrestricted grants to smaller charities and not-for-profit organisations in order to provide maximum flexibility to applicants in terms of determining how the grant can be best used.

The Foundation does not consider grant applications from individuals.

Funding for 2022/23 opens on Monday 1st August 2022 with a deadline for applications of Monday 31st October 2022. Successful applicants are expected to be informed in January 2023.
