The objective of the Casey Trust is the application of its income and capital through the awarding of grants and donations to organisations providing direct services for the needs of children worldwide.

The Trust makes small grants for projects worldwide that support children aged up to 18, to such charitable institutions that the Trust, in its absolute discretion, think fit. The Trust awards grants to a wide variety of registered UK charities working for children, both nationally and internationally. Increasingly, the Trust’s focus is on start-ups or bold new initiatives that might not have happened without the Trust's participation.

During the year ended 30th June 2022, the Trust awarded 59 grants totalling £92,490. Please note that the Trust does not publish a list of grant recipients in its annual accounts or on its website.

The Trustees view the Trust as a long-term evolving project with its role as a generous and philanthropic fund of worthwhile causes continuing well into the future. They envisage grants and awards being maintained at similar levels to previous years.

Organisations should meet the following criteria in order to be eligible to apply for a grant:

1. They must be a registered UK  (or UK affiliate) charity.
2. Read and observe the guidelines in the ‘Mission Statement’ on the
 Trust’s website.
3. The proposal must be concerned exclusively with children and their welfare.
4. Send the Trust a brief, 2-page outline of what you do and what the project is. Remember the Trust is increasingly looking for start-up projects or new initiatives within an existing project,
and
5. Include a clear budget and, if possible, a recent set of your accounts.

The Trust meets every 3 months to review requests for grant support.

Applications should be made by post only (emailed applications are not accepted). Applicants that want a response should include a SAE. Applicants that have not provided a SAE and have not heard from the Trust after a reasonable period should assume that their application has been unsuccessful. An unsuccessful application does not preclude charities from making another application in the future.
