THE BIRKDALE TRUST FOR HEARING IMPAIRED

Grants, generally between £300 and £2,500, are available to UK charitable organisations and individuals to advance the education and welfare of children and young people up to the age of 25 who have a hearing impairment.

__________

o Application deadline: none - applications may be made at any time by application form and are reviewed every 2 months by the Trust.

o Who can apply: UK charitable organisations, including educational institutions. Individuals may also apply for grant support.

The Birkdale Trust’s focus is on making grants for profoundly deaf young people in order to:

1. Advance the education of children and young people, with particular reference to those with hearing impairment, and
2. Advance any other Charitable Object which promotes the welfare of hearing impaired children and young people, which may conveniently be pursued in conjunction with the pursuit of the first mentioned Object, as above.

Most grants are for between £300 and £2,500, augmented by the occasional higher award. Matched funding is welcomed, although it is not an essential requirement.

Further information, guidance and an application form, which should be returned to the Trust by post, is available on the Trust’s website.

Applications may be made at any time. The Trust meets every 2 months to review applications. An application that is received too late for a meeting will be rolled forward and considered at the following meeting.
