The Balmain Environmental Conservation Trust is a modest grant-making charity that makes a small number of grant awards each year. The Trust' focus is on conservation and the protection of the natural and physical environment. Its aims are:
o To promote for public benefit the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, and
o To advance such charitable purposes as the Trustees see fit from time to time.
The Trust aims to achieve its charitable objectives by:
o Making grants to registered charities and research bodies in accordance with the Charity's constitution, and
o Undertaking research itself in accordance with the Charity's constitution
During the year ended 5 April 2022, the Trust awarded grants to 9 charities totalling £12,000 (2021: £21,000), namely:
o Conservation Zambezi (£1,000).
o Free Mind (£1,000).
o Help for Heroes (£1,000).
o Kew (£1,000).
o Second Chance (£3,000).
o Surfers Against Sewage (£1,000).
o The British Red Cross (£2,000).
o The Longford Scholars (£1,000), and
o The Trussell Trust (£1,000).
