THE ARTEMIS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

Grants, generally under £10,000, are available to UK registered charities working in the UK and/or overseas in the areas of education, environment, health and the relief of poverty.

o Who can apply: small to medium sized UK registered charities working in the UK and/or overseas, preferably with an annual income of between £100,000 and £1 million.

 

The Artemis Charitable Foundation (you may have to click past a 'gateway' page - just click on 'United Kingdom' and 'Institution' to access the Foundation's page) is a Scottish grant-making charity that supports small to medium sized UK registered charities, preferably with an annual income of between £100,000 and £1 million, working in the UK and/or overseas in the areas of:

o Education.
o Health.
o The environment, 
and
o The relief of poverty.

The Foundation tends to prioritise project proposals that demonstrate innovation and can be replicated on a wider scale.

The majority of grants are for £10,000 or less (and more commonly, under £5,000), augmented by the occasional higher award. During the year ended 31st December 2021, the Foundation made 12 grants of over £20,000, many of which were repeat awards. Grants ranged from £250 to £60,000 (to Shivia Microfinance).

Applications must be made by email (addressed to charitablefoundation(at)artemisfunds.com) and should consist of:

o A covering letter.
o A brief proposal (ideally no more than 2-3 pages) containing an overview of the applying organisation’s work and funding priorities, 
and
o Basic financial information on the applying organisation, including a summary of income and expenditure activity from the applicant's latest annual accounts

The current application window runs from Saturday 1st April to Friday 30th June 2023. The deadline for applications is 12 noon on 30th June 2023.
