The Anton Jurgens Charitable Trust (AJCT) awards grants to registered UK-based charities supporting socially disadvantaged and disabled people of all ages across the UK.
While the Trust doesn’t provide a minimum or maximum grant level, the vast majority of grants tend to be for between £1,000 and £5,000.
Applications are assessed against the following investment criteria:
1. Social entrepreneurship – the combination of financial and social added value.
2. Financial) sustainability – the pursuit of a permanent positive impact.
3. Personal initiative and personal commitment – to engender self-sufficiency and autonomy.
4. Prevention – a structured approach to tackling social problems at an early stage.
5. Social involvement – the creation of inspiring examples, and
6. Searching for meaning – creating awareness of the ‘why’ of our human actions and existence.
Funding is not available for:
o Arts and culture, unless these are engaged in the development of therapies.
o Research, or
o The promotion of religion.
