The aims and objectives of Harpenden-based the Access Foundation are to support organisations who have, as a key objective, the mitigation of the digital divide, by making computing facilities, support and/or learning available to:
o Disadvantaged and vulnerable people.
o Support charities who have been chosen or shortlisted as the Access Group charities of the year, and
o Support charities who have a “strong emotional connection” with a member of staff of Access (for example, through support they or a close relative have received from the charity).
Grants of between £25,000 and £100,000 are available to registered charities, Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs), Community Interest Companies (CICs) and educational institutions in England. Scotland and Wales for projects that last no longer than 12 months.
Grants will be awarded for specific services, activities, initiatives or projects with clearly identified and measurable outcomes.
Funding is not available for:
o Animal welfare or animal charities.
o General running costs or overheads.
o Individuals, or
o Religious organisations or religious activity which is not for wider public benefit.
