Welsh Government funded training for Managers in Social Care

Resilience and Bereavement Support Training

Welsh Government has provided funding to Social Care Wales to deliver training to managers in social care on two separate subjects.

It is important to stress that this is a 6 week programme, each week comprising one 90 minute session so it would expected that all managers who join the programme  commit to attending the whole programme i.e. 6 x 90 minute sessions – full details of the expectations are included in the document below – please read this before booking a place.

  1. Resilience training – the attachment to this email provides full details of the training but in summary it is to provide managers with a dedicated programme of self-reflective and peer learning with an experienced facilitator with the following benefits:

          • A much clearer mind, free from clutter, doubt and worry

            • A feeling of being more in control and able to make decisions more easily

            • An ability to bounce back from setbacks quickly and smoothly

            • More connected relationships with colleagues, clients, friends and family

            • A renewed sense of purpose, focus and peace of mind

We are running two cohorts with 14 places on each cohort and places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis and can be booked by following this link.

  1. Bereavement support training (Marie Curie UK) – this programme has the following learning outcomes:

·Understand loss and its effect on individuals

·Feel better equipped to have difficult conversations around grief and bereavement with staff

·Know how to recognise the potential impact on themselves when supporting staff through loss and bereavement and hear guidance on what to do

·Have appreciated what additional support is available and where to find out about other support organisations in Wales

This is a single session event lasting 90 minutes but it is running on 4 separate occasions with 30 places on each event. Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis and can be booked by following the link. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/hyfforddiant-cymorth-profedigaethbereavement-support-training-tickets-214684977547
