The report discusses issues around reliable data due to: under-reporting of concerns or offences relating to exploitation; and stereotypical assumptions held by the police and the public concerning girls’ behaviour. Recommendations include: prioritise the protection of girls from gang related harms in safeguarding frameworks; and provide education programmes that support girls and tackle misogyny.
