Protecting the Mental Well-being of our future generations

Children and young people’s mental wellbeing is a priority for many organisations in Wales. This webinar will help you find out what we know so far about the impact of COVID- 19 and the “Whole School Approach” programme that schools in Wales are implementing to promote emotional and mental wellbeing Report of the Public Health webinar held in September.

Nerys Edmonds from the Welsh Health Impact Assessment Unit (Public Health Wales) and Amy Davies from the Health Improvement Division (Public Health Wales) :

  • Shared the main findings and recommendations contained in a Mental Wellbeing Impact Assessment examining the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the protective factors for mental wellbeing for young people aged 10-24
  • Described the aim of the Whole School Approach to Emotional and Mental Wellbeing, and how the programme has been implemented to date across Wales
  • Shared learning from evaluation activity that explores how secondary schools have engaged with the self-assessment process of reviewing the emotional and mental well-being needs and strengths of their school community.
