Public places are important to children and teenagers, helping them to explore and play in their neighbourhoods. This free webinar will report on research which:
- explores play and physical activity
- discusses the wants and needs of young people in their local communities in Wales and the development of an app (RPlace) that will facilitate advocacy work.
Speakers:
- Meghan Talarowski, of Studio Ludo, who has researched what playground elements promote moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and how these elements may have a future impact on population health.
- Dr. Michaela James, from Swansea University, who will discuss the importance of co-production with children and teenagers in reference to physical activity and play.
- Sana Shaikh, an intern funded by Play Wales at the National Centre for Population Health & Wellbeing Research, will discuss current progress with the RPlace app.
- Professor Gareth Stratton, from Swansea University, will discuss the Active Healthy Kids Wales Report Card.
