Eco-Schools is a programme for environmental education, which focuses on helping young people engage with the world around them and encourages them to actively participate in protecting it, empowering them to be the change they wish to see. The programme offers opportunities to develop an understanding of the natural world and how human activities are affecting it. In an ever-changing world, the Eco-School programme is more prevalent than ever and provides a perfect way for schools to embark on a meaningful journey of change and empowerment, ultimately leading towards an improved environment for the school and wider community.
The Eco-Schools programme is a long-term commitment for schools and provides a framework to instil an embedded ethos of environmental awareness and care within school life. As a registered Eco-School, you will supported by one of our local education officers who will be able to guide you through the process and direct you towards relevant projects and training. We offer a range of in person and online training for educators to help you become confident in delivering climate and environmental education. We also offer a range of bilingual pupil workshops and resources, providing a well-rounded understanding of Wales and our environment.
