Having the chance to play is an important part of a happy and healthy childhood for every child. Children play in all sorts of places, but there are some places that have been created specifically with the intention of supporting children’s play. Surveys with children highlight the importance of formal play spaces – parks, playgrounds, skate parks, games areas. Children tell us they are important spaces they are ‘allowed’ to go to, and feel safe in.
