In May 2023, Welsh Government introduced revised National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare for children up to the age of 12 years this included clearer guidance on safeguarding training requirements in Wales

PACEY Cymru and Children in Wales will work in partnership to develop a package of training for the sector in line with the revised standards. Together, Children in Wales and PACEY Cymru will utilise their experience of the sector and safeguarding knowledge to develop a refreshed training package that meets the needs of all those working in childcare and early years settings. It is planned that this bilingual training will be delivered through a blended approach of self-directed online learning and trainer led learning.
