Message from Carers Wales
"Throughout the pandemic, Carers Wales has been listening to you and raising your concerns with Welsh Government officials and elected representatives. This is now a critical opportunity for you to reinforce what carers need and ensure that carers’ needs are firmly on the post-Covid agenda. As budgets will be undoubtedly squeezed, we want to make sure that carers are rightly valued and at the forefront of policy and service planning for the recovery period and beyond.
We have already set out what we think should be included in the recovery roadmap and have sent this to Welsh Government - https://www.carersuk.org/wales/news-campaigns/news/wales-carers-alliance-thoughts-regarding-welsh-government-recovery-roadmap
As a campaigning organisation fighting for carers’ rights, we urge you to send a clear message to Welsh Government that carers should be better supported and how this should be achieved.
If you do decide to send a response, we would be grateful if you could send us a copy. We can then ensure that we reinforce what carers have said. Responses should be sent to: ourfuturewales(at)gov.wales and copied in to info(at)carerswales.org
As an aside to this we are trialing open discussions so carers can tell us what the key priorities should be for our policy and campaigning, what rights, services and support you would like us to campaign for and hear about how you can become an active Carers Wales member.
