The Reading Well for dementia scheme has achieved profile and credibility since its launch in England in 2015 and in Wales in 2018, but it is now in need of review to ensure that the book list continues to be relevant, useful and accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Many of you will be familiar with The Reading Agency’s Reading Well programme, but if you aren’t you can find out more on the Reading Well website (www.reading-well.org.uk) or get in touch (readingwell(at)readingagency.org.uk).
A consultation paper and online survey have been developed for the health and social care sector to feed into. This covers key areas including: the evidence base for the scheme, the current policy and implications of the scheme, the approach to development, and the topics the scheme should cover.
The consultation paper is attached. It would be hugely helpful if you could take the time to look through this and feedback through the online survey by Friday 7th July: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/K89P2J7
When the survey closes, one participant will be selected at random to win a pack of free resources for the new scheme.
