Will your clients struggle with cost pressures this Winter?
Fuel bills are rising for many households with further increases expected in April. Financial stress can have a detrimental impact on health and wellbeing, so with your help we want to identify financial savings and maximise our client’s income wherever possible.
What support is there for clients?
Welsh Water can save customers up to £250 off their water bill should they qualify for our HelpU tariff, they may also be eligible for other savings; such as the Government schemes:
- Winter Fuel Support scheme [ https://gov.wales/winter-fuel-support-scheme ]. Eligible households can claim a one-off £200 payment which offers support towards paying winter fuel bills.
- The Warm Home Discount scheme [https://gov.wales/winter-fuel-support-scheme]. Eligible households could get £140 off their electricity bill.
This could potentially make a combined annual saving of £590 for our mutual customers.
What are we doing to help our clients access our services and schemes?
Our Here for You campaign sees the launch of our stakeholder pack, see attached, which is full of free content you can use to raise awareness of the support available to your clients. The pack details all the services and schemes on offer to support you and your clients in their application for any water tariff, debt scheme and/or Priority Services Register.
What are we doing to raise awareness of the services and schemes?
- posting articles in local newspapers and on social media, and we’d love it if you could like and share our posts on Facebook and Twitter
- delivering a Q&A session on ‘energy’ across all Welsh local radio stations
- using our Community Van to connect with clients in the community and re-engaging on any community events
- delivering training and awareness sessions to stakeholders
How can you get involved?
- In order to tackle this problem, we need your help. We would love to publish an article in your newsletter or get involved in any webinars you may be planning. We can also arrange to train your staff on the support we have available, as well as welcoming you along to our community van events. However big or small, please get involved in our campaign and help us support the most vulnerable.
Together we can do so much more!
