Emergency Assistance Payment (EAP)
A grant to help pay for essential costs, such as food, gas, electricity or clothing after an emergency.
You can apply for a grant if you:
- have lost your job
- have had a flood or fire in your home
- have applied for benefits and waiting for your first payment
- are experiencing financial hardship
What you can use the grant for
Use the grant to pay for:
- food
- gas
- electricity
- clothing
- emergency travel
You cannot use it to pay for ongoing bills that you cannot afford to pay
