These interventions are for adults struggling with their mental health with the 10 weeks split into 2 blocks of 5:
Entry Level – for people with little or no hill walking experience
Dates: Thursday February 16 – March 16 2023
Challenge Level – for people who are already happy to do 2 to 3 hour walks over sometimes tricky terrain
Dates: Thursday March 23 – April 20 2023
The idea is that some people will gain confidence during the first 5 weeks and feel happy to move onto the next block but those with existing experience can sign up for the challenge level straight away. Routes will start nice and easy along the canals and cycle paths around Newtown and progress to longer walks as the weeks go on. There is always a chance to stop at a café and teas and coffees are provided. This project is fully funded and there will be waterproofs and boots available to borrow each time if required.
Thursdays 11-3pm from Newtown
Please find posters attached and feel free to circulate within your networks. As you can see the first block starts in just under 3 weeks time so don’t delay, sign up today! Email bethan.logan(at)outdoorpartnership.co.uk to register and find out about next steps.
