Can you help support Shaping Our Lives with their surveys?
These surveys are for d/Deaf and Disabled people. Disabled people are people with sensory, cognitive, neurodevelopmental conditions, learning disabilities or physical impairments, mental health issues and people with long term health conditions.
Shaping Our Lives has been given some money from the National Lottery Community Fund to do research. The research is to find out what longer term impacts have been caused for d/Deaf and Disabled people by Covid 19 emergency policies and lockdown.
The first survey relates to the impact on independent living, for example, some people have told us they have lost their confidence in getting out and about and everyday living has become more difficult. Shaping Our Lives knows that some of these issues cannot be sorted out quickly. In some cases, people's lives may not get back to how they used to be without additional help. The second survey is about using technology for keeping in touch, having meetings and appointments during the Covid19 pandemic and lockdown. They want to find out if remote communication technology is a good way for you to take part or receive a service. Or, if remote ways of communicating are difficult or impossible for you to use.
What you and other people tell SOL will then be used to tell people in national and local government about the support d/Deaf and Disabled people need to get back to living independently, feeling safe and confident and whether using remote communication technology is suitable all the time.
Shaping Our Lives would therefore be very grateful if you could help by answering these two short surveys. You will not be asked to give your name and all answers will be kept anonymous.
Each survey will take between 15 – 20 minutes. There is no involvement payment offered for completing these surveys. If you have been interviewed for this research you do not need to complete the surveys.
