Food For Life's upcoming network sessions.

Growing in small spaces, building community, dignity and more.

Amazing groups from around the country will be bringing the following inspiration right to your front room:

26th April, 10:00-11:00 ‘Create Your Own Edible Hanging Basket!

A Virtual Workshop’

Groundwork Wales will demonstrate what can be grown to provide us with fresh healthy food even in the smallest of places! Whether you have a balcony or a small spot outside that private-rented flat, learn what you can do to grow your own. Register here.

4th May, 10:30-11:30, ‘Putting Dignity on the Menu’

This session will explore dignity principles and communications centred around (emergency) food provision in areas of high deprivation to support community access to good food and maintain health messages without inflicting stigma. Drawing on the dignity principles developed with Nourish Scotland, the session will be led by Belville Garden Community Trust. Register here.

18th May, 11:00-12:30, ‘Stronger Communities through Good Food’

ACE will lead a session exploring how community food projects have built stronger communities in Ely and Cearau (two of the most deprived wards in Cardiff). Two local community food leaders, who run a community pantry and cafe at ACE's Dusty Forge centre, will share their perspectives on the powerful role good food projects play in community building and development and how these projects have transformed the lives of those involved. Register here.

One last event you might be interested in is being hosted by Eden Project Communities and the Network of Wellbeing, and we’ll be joining them along with speakers from An Tobar and TAWS:

19th April, 7:30 pm, ‘Planting Seeds of Wellbeing:

Community Access to Nature Through Growing’

We know that connecting to Nature is wonderful for our wellbeing, and that planting seeds and gardening is a beautiful way to deepen this connection. We also know that there can be barriers to accessing natural spaces and to getting started with growing your own food. Find out more about connecting and overcoming barriers by joining us, register for free here.

With so much coming up, you can tell it’s spring I think!
