Margaret Evitts
Margaret has an interest in children and education gained from a long career in the education system. Margaret was a head teacher for over 20 years, during that time she became an active member of the National Association of Head Teachers and was elected to their National Executive in 1999 to represent North and Mid-Wales. In that role she chaired one of the national committees and represented the organisation in meetings with government at both Westminster and Cardiff. Margaret is a trustee with Dyfodol, Powys Futures an organisation that works with children and families to improve their lives.
She is also a Bishop’s Visitor for the St Asaph Diocese which helps her to keep in touch with education and schools. Margaret sees the benefit of statutory and voluntary sectors working together and gained experience in partnership working through being a member of the Early Years Partnership. She continues to support this approach through her role as Diocese Representative on Powys County Council Learning, Skills and Economy Scrutiny Committee. Margaret feels her knowledge and experience of successful partnership working may be of benefit to PAVO and the voluntary sector in these difficult and challenging times.
