Heading to the Royal Welsh Show next week?

If you’re planning a trip to the Royal Welsh Show, we hope you have a fantastic week enjoying everything the Show has to offer.

And while you’re there, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to access health and wellbeing information, advice and support.

Here’s where you’ll find us throughout the week:

Visit the Farming Fit project

We’ll be joining our partners on the award-winning Farming Fit project stand, located in its usual spot in the Health and Wellbeing Area on the balcony of Sheep Hall 1.

Be sure to stop by if you’d like to discuss your health and wellbeing, or get information, advice and support from the team. A partnership between PAVO, Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board, the initiative brings free clinical reviews and wellbeing checks directly to livestock markets and major agricultural events throughout the year.

Share your experiences of growing older in rural Wales

On Wednesday 22 July, from 2pm to 3pm, the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales team will be visiting the Farming Fit project.

They’re carrying out research into people’s experiences of growing older in rural areas and would love to hear your views. You can talk to the team about:

  • What you enjoy most about rural life
  • The challenges you face
  • The changes that would make the biggest positive difference for older people living in rural Wales

Find out more about cancer support in Powys

You can also visit the Macmillan stand (290, Avenue C) to learn more about the Improving the Cancer Journey in Powys programme.

Our Improving the Cancer Journey Community Connector will be at the stand on Tuesday 21 July and Thursday 23 July, and will be happy to chat about the support available.

Enjoy your time at the Royal Welsh Show, and if you’re passing by, please do come and say hello. We encourage you to make the most of the support, information and advice available throughout the week.
