What do you, your colleagues, friends and family know about Shared Lives Powys?

Shared Lives is a unique way of supporting people in the community.

What do you, your colleagues, friends, and family know about Shared Lives Powys?

You can work while being a Shared Lives carer – it’s all about finding the right match.

It’s not welcoming a stranger into your home – the team arrange introductions so you and the person can build a relationship first.

You’re not alone – every Shared Lives carer has ongoing support from an allocated Scheme Officer who monitors the arrangement and ensures it works for everyone.

Shared Lives is flexible – perfect for parents seeking home-based work, people nearing retirement, families, single people, and couples (Many carers work alongside their Shared Lives role).

They support older people too! – as well as individuals with a wide range of needs including people with Learning Disabilities.

You choose what works for you – short breaks/respite, sessional support, emergency, or long-term arrangements.

 It’s not voluntary – It’s a paid, self-employed role.
