Walks for Hope

Suicide bereavement is often called “grief with the volume turned up”, accompanied by intense shame, guilt and social withdrawal. Many feel they can’t talk openly about their loss, fearing judgement or avoidance; this can include those of us who as staff have been affected by a death by suicide of a client. Peer walks provide a safe, non-clinical space where people can meet others who truly understand without the need to explain or justify their grief.
