The aim of the of the Walker 597 Trust is to make regular payments and one-off grants to charities that are working to promote animal welfare. The Trust’s charitable objectives are for “such exclusively charitable objects, trusts and institutions for the benefit of animal welfare and the prevention of cruelty to animals”.

The Trust normally only considers requests from UK registered charities, or charities with a UK bank account and contact.

During the year ended 5th April 2024, the Trust made 146 (2023: 152) donations of amounts between £300 and £1,000 to animal charities in furtherance of its objectives. The total amount of grants awarded was £46,288 (2023: £46,700), representing an average grant of £317 (2023: £307).
