The Mackie Foundation is a London-based grant-making charity that awards a limited number of grants to UK registered charities working in the areas of:
o Drug or alcohol rehabilitation, and/or
o Medical research.
Most of the Trust’s grant-funding is directed towards drug or alcohol rehabilitation.
The Trust has 5 trustees, one of whom is also a trustee of the following grant-making charities:
1. THE ASK CHARITABLE TRUST (charity number 1133519) – the aims of the Charity are general charitable ones. The Charity will carry out its aims by making donations to other charitable organisations. The criteria which the trustees of the Charity will apply in selecting which charities and charitable activities they will support will be the degree of public benefit that such charities or activities promote. During the year ended 30th April 2024, the Trust’s total charitable expenditure was £355,883.
2. FORSTERS CHARITABLE FUND (charity number 1072844) – the Charity makes grants to charitable organisations with some connection to Forsters LLP, its clients or its staff. During the year ended 29th February 2024, the Charity’s total expenditure was £75,243.
In the year ended 5 April 2024, the Mackie Foundation made 8 grants totalling £218,953, with awards ranging from £2,000 to £90,000 (2023: 6 grants totalling £163,150, with awards ranging from £2,500 to £60,000).

The Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.
