The Frognal Trust is a South West England (Salisbury) based charity that is currently in its 61st year of grant-making.

The Trust applies income for general charitable purposes at the discretion of the trustees, awarding grants to other charities for:

o Children and young people.
o Elderly/older people.
o Environmental heritage.
o Medical research, 
and
o People with disabilities, particularly blindness.

Grants tend to be for between £200 and £3,500 with the occasional higher award. There is no requirement for matched funding.

During the year ended 5th April 2024, the Trust awarded grants totalling £105,000 (2023: £125,250), categorised as follows:

o Children: £17,000 (2023: £22,000).
o Elderly: £19,000 (2023: £19,000).
o Environmental heritage: £10,000 (2023: £19,000).
o Medical research: £40,000 (2023: £41,250), 
and
o People with disabilities, particularly blindness: £19,000 (2023: £24,000).

The Trust does not list grant recipients in its annual accounts, nor does it have a website. Grants have previously been made to:

o Aireborough Voluntary Services for the Elderly.
o Gloucestershire Disabled Afloat Riverboat Trust.
o Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People, 
and
o The Wireless for the Bedridden Society (now called Wavelength).

The Trust has a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.

Funding is not available for:

o The care or welfare of animals, or
o Charities that promote religious beliefs.
