The Concertina Charitable Trust

The Trustees of The Concertina Charitable Trust have granted funds to over 300 charitable organisations in England and Wales. The following charities represent a cross section of the types of activities the trustees support although it by no means represents the entire scope of their charitable giving.

Although the remit of the Trust is to support smaller organisations who find it difficult to avail themselves of funds, and the majority of resources are dispensed to such small charities, larger organisations such as The Wigmore Hall Trust have been supported because of the importance of the work they are pioneering. Other larger organisations such as the London Symphony Orchestra or Welsh National Opera have limited funds for their outreach programmes for the elderly and were therefore deemed suitable candidates for funding.

How to Apply for a Grant

The trustees review applications after the deadlines of: April 30th and October 31st. Please submit your application in good time so the administrator can review it to ensure there are no omissions and that it is suitable before submission to the Trustees. Grants are a maximum of £250. One of the most common mistakes smaller organisations make is not including their accounts or financial statements with the application. This will henceforth result in an automatic refusal to grant funds. Charities are invited to make an application to the Trustees via the Administrator at The Concertina Charitable Trust, Nells Platt, Smithwood Common, Cranleigh, Surrey GU6 8QY. They need to provide details of their charity’s objects, its financial position, the sector of the elderly community which it benefits, amount sought and proposed cultural activities or related facilities it intends to provide.
