_________

Gloucestershire-based charity, the Adint Charitable Trust is a discretionary grant-making Trust with the ability to award to a wide range of registered charities and causes across the UK. However, while not exclusively the case, the charity tends to awards grants to national charities working in the areas of health and medical causes. Charities working in the areas of disability and health are regularly supported, particularly those working in a specific medical field, such as Cystic Fibrosis and Epilepsy. Hospitals and hospices are also frequently funded.

To be eligible to apply, charities should be registered with a charity number and have a bank account in the name of their charity.

During the year ended 5th April 2024, the Trust awarded 36 grants totalling £295,000 (2023: 50 grants totalling £470,000).

Donations made in the years ending 2021 to 2023 were increased to assist charities who were impacted by the adverse economic climate and other factors, such as COVID. The trustees considered that this higher level of donations could not be sustained and in 2024 decided to revert to an amount in line with the long-term run rate of donations. The trustees anticipate making total donations of around £300,000 in the future years.

Grants made are usually for either £5,000, £10,000, £15,000 or £20,000. A list of grant recipients over the previous two years can be found on pages 12-14 of the Trust’s annual accounts.

The Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.
