AI Landscape Survey – understanding uses of AI in Welsh public services
AI is, and will continue to be, an increasing part of delivering public services. It’s already reshaping the way we work and serve our communities, from faster diagnoses in the NHS to personalised learning in schools. Big things are already happening in Wales, including:
- the formation of a Strategic AI Advisory Group, bringing together experts from industry, academia and public sector.
- the establishment of an Office for AI in Welsh Government to provide leadership and direction on public service transformation.
- the announcement of new AI Growth Zones in North Wales and South Wales, in partnership with the UK Government.
- the launch of the AI Plan for Wales on the 18th November 2025.
AI presents extraordinary opportunities, but also challenges to navigate with care. We want to help Welsh public services and 3rd Sector organisations to responsibly harness AI to deliver economic growth, enhance public services in both English and Welsh, and equip people with the skills to thrive in an AI-shaped future.
To help us do so, we need your help! Please let us know how you are currently using or considering AI, and any barriers or challenges you’re facing. Answers will inform the work of the Welsh Government’s Office for AI from 2026 onwards, so make sure you have your say!
This survey is available in both Cymraeg and English. To complete the survey in your preferred language, simply select ‘English’ or ‘Cymraeg’ using the drop down menu in the top right hand corner.
This survey should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Responses can be made anonymously, and no answers will be shared beyond the direct project team without your explicit consent.
