YOUTH LED GRANT SCHEME 2026 - 2027

PAVO is offering grants of up to £500 to help young people in Powys turn great ideas into community action.

We're looking for projects that are planned and led by young people aged 14–25 and create volunteering opportunities that make a positive difference in local communities.

Funding must be spent by 31 March 2027.

What kinds of projects can we fund?

Projects should contribute to at least one of the seven Well-being Goals for Wales, such as creating healthier communities, reducing inequalities, protecting the environment, or supporting local culture and communities.

Previous projects have included fundraising for local charities, environmental activities, community gardens, improvements to spaces for older people, well-being initiatives, support for young carers, and community arts projects.

Who Should Complete the Application?

The application should be completed by the young people leading the project. Adults can provide support if needed, but the ideas, decisions, and application should come from the young people involved.

To be eligible, your project must be led by young people aged 14–25, provide volunteering opportunities in Powys, and benefit the local community.

Your group must:

  • have at least three young people involved in planning and delivering the project
  • have an adult (18+) responsible for overseeing the project
  • be a constituted organisation with a governing document and a bank account in the organisation's name with at least two unrelated signatories
  • be independent of government and private sector organisations
  • be able to provide youth representation during the assessment process if required
  • contribute to at least one of the Seven Well-being Goals for Wales

Priority Areas

All projects must contribute to at least one of the Seven Well-being Goals for Wales:

  1. A Prosperous Wales
    2. A Resilient Wales
    3. A More Equal Wales
    4. A Healthier Wales
    5. A Wales of Cohesive Communities
    6. A Wales of Vibrant Culture and Thriving Welsh Language
    7. A Globally Responsible Wales

Projects must be completed and all funding spent by 31 March 2027. Any funding that has not been spent by this date must be returned.

Additional Support for Young Volunteers

We have additional funding available to help remove barriers that might prevent young people from volunteering. This can include support for travel, accessibility, communication, caring responsibilities, or other reasonable costs associated with taking part.

APPLICATION FORM

We want everyone to have the opportunity to get involved. If you need support with your application, would like to discuss your project idea, or have any questions about the process, please contact Louise Hardwick at louise.hardwick@pavo.org.uk or 01597 822191.
