Baromedr Cymru Wave 4 now open: health and social care in focus

Voluntary organisations play an important role in supporting people’s health and wellbeing across Wales. They provide preventative support, deliver services within communities, and work alongside health and social care partners to improve outcomes for individuals and communities.

Yet there is still much we do not fully understand about how voluntary organisations experience working within health and social care systems, the opportunities they create, and the challenges they face.

Why health and social care?

The VCSE Observatory and WCVA are launching Wave 4 of Baromedr Cymru, aiming to build a clearer picture of the voluntary sector’s contribution to health and social care in Wales.

We are exploring organisations’ experiences of working with health and social care partners, collaborating with other organisations, delivering services that meet local needs, and responding to changes across the health and social care landscape.

As the first Baromedr Cymru wave to focus on health and social care, it will provide a baseline against which future trends can be measured, helping us track how relationships, collaboration and the sector’s role within health and social care systems develop over time.

By gathering these insights, we can strengthen the evidence base for the sector and improve understanding of the role voluntary organisations play in supporting people and communities across Wales.

Open to all voluntary organisations

While Wave 4 includes a focus on health and social care, Baromedr Cymru is open to all voluntary organisations in Wales.

Alongside the topical questions, the survey also includes Baromedr Cymru’s regular quarterly questions, helping us track trends across the sector, including finances, workforce and volunteering, organisational outlook, and changes in demand.
