THE A S CHARITABLE TRUST

Small, medium and large grants are available to UK registered charities working in the UK and/or developing countries to advance the Christian religion through lay leadership and peace and reconciliation. The Trust also makes grants to UK charities that address other areas of social concern.

o Application deadline: none – applications may be made at any time. The Trust’s accounts state that donations are made to charities known to the trustees. A letter of introduction may therefore be the best way to make an initial contact.

The A S Charitable Trust is a discretionary grant-making charity with the following charitable objectives: “to apply the Trust Fund for the benefit or in furtherance of such charitable purposes of charitable institutions in such manner as the trustees may from time-to-time think fit”.

The Trust is particularly sympathetic to projects that combine the advancement of the Christian religion with:

o Christian lay leadership.
o Third World development.
o Peace-making and reconciliation, and
o Other areas of social concern.

During the year ended 5th April 2024, the Trust awarded 19 grants totalling £406,200 (2023: 30 grants totalling £381,045).

Grants made ranged from £750 to £100,000 (to CHIPS, a London charity that helps give independence and mobility to children with a disability).

A list of all grants made over the last two years can be found on page 14 of the Trust’s annual accounts.

The Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.

As its annual accounts state that donations are usually made to charities known to the trustees, a letter of introduction may be the best way to make contact with the Trust.
