Our History

Powys Rural Council was originally formed in 1974, bringing together the three independent Rural Community Councils of Montgomeryshire, Radnorshire, and Brecknockshire.

In 1994, Powys Rural Council became Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations (PAVO).

We're proud to have been supporting people and communities in Powys ever since.

Our PAVO Team

PAVO is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee.
We are governed by a board of trustees (who also act as company directors). Up to nine trustees are elected by PAVO members at our Annual General Meeting. The board also has the power to co-opt additional members and appoint ex-officio trustees as needed.
