THE GORDON FRASER CHARITABLE TRUST

Small grants, generally for £2,500 or less, are available to UK registered charities working with children, young people and the disabled in the performing and visual arts, visual arts, museums, medical causes and the environment. The Trust has a preference for supporting Scottish charities, although not exclusively.

Funder: The Gordon Fraser Charitable Trust (founded 1966. Charity number 260869. Total value of all grants awarded during the year ended 31 January 2024: £170,000 (2023: £165,000)).
Who can apply: registered charities based and working in the UK.

Although registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, the Gordon Fraser Charitable Trust generally favours charities operating in Scotland, but not to the exclusion of charities operating solely in England and/or Wales and/or Northern Ireland. The Trust favours:

o Charities involved with the performing arts, particularly if children, young people and the disabled are involved.
o Charities established to further the visual arts and museums.
o Small medical charities, 
and
o Environmental causes including support of the built environment.

Grants tend to be small, mostly for £2,500 or less, with the occasional higher award. There is no matched funding requirement.

Applications, which are reviewed quarterly by trustees in January, April, July and October, may be made at any time, but please note that applicants are required to register with the Trust before making an application.
