Leicestershire based the Haramead Trust has kept the same principal objectives since it was founded 30 years ago. These are:

o The provision of relief for those suffering hardship or distress.
o The provision of relief in connection with children’s welfare, 
and
o The advancement of education towards the enhancement of health.

One of its trustees is also a trustee of another Leicestershire grant-making charity, the Dromintee Trust (charity number 1053956). The Dromintee Trust awards grants to any charitable institution or foundation that fits its objectives based on health, research into rare diseases, children’s welfare and relief of poverty and hardship in all ages and countries. The Trust awarded grants totalling £1,123,015 in the year up to 31st March 2024.

The Haramead Trust supports registered charities in the UK and overseas. It can also award grants to individuals and families in direct need of assistance. Its grant-making history suggests some preference for charities based and providing services in Leicestershire.

During the year ended 31st March 2024. The Trust received 564 requests for grant support, of which 132 were awarded a grant. Grants totalling £1,075,000 were made during the year, comprising:

o 42 grants of £10,000 or more, and
o 90 grants for between £5,000 and £9,999.

No grants were awarded for less than £5,000.

Grants were awarded against the following headings:

o Children’s charities.
o Education.
o Homelessness, 
and
o Social or medical assistance.
