Powys Befriending Service Officer – North Powys
Location: PAVO Offices Newtown, Powys.
Hours: 35 hours per week (Fixed term to 31st March 2027)
(Although Full time is preferred we would consider Job Share or Part time)
Salary: £33,143 pro rata per annum (additional 6% employer contribution pension)
Powys Befriending Service supports people over the age of 50, living in Powys, to help maintain their independence, improve confidence, develop their social network and reconnect with activities in the community or with a friendly cuppa and chat in their own home.
This post will increase capacity within the service by supporting a variety of stages of the befriending process, including client registration and assessment, recruiting and supporting volunteers, arranging matches between clients and volunteers, monitoring on-going relationships and promoting the service.
We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, who enjoys the company of older people and ideally has experience in volunteering. If you have an understanding of the impact of loneliness and want to do something about it – every day – then we’d like to hear from you!
