Locality networks and social value

Our Locality Networks bring together individuals, community groups, third sector organisations, and statutory services to discuss local health and wellbeing challenges and opportunities, and to share ideas, experiences, and best practice.

Locality Network Meetings

There are 13 Locality Networks across Powys, each meeting at least four times a year, and provide an informal space to:

  • Learn about what’s happening locally
  • Make new connections
  • Explore opportunities for development and collaboration

By collaborating with local stakeholders and service providers, we aim to identify and address gaps in services, explore funding needs, and work together on solutions.

Social Value Coordination Group

Each local network chooses someone to represent them in the Social Value Coordination Group. These representatives link local meetings with the coordination group and can vote once a year on funding priorities.

The group meets twice a year to look at information about unmet needs in Powys. Based on this data, they decide which priorities should receive Social Value Funding. The overall level of funding is set by the Regional Partnership Board.

The funding process, including grants and support, is run by PAVO. The group is also a space to:

  • Share information and good practice
  • Celebrate local successes
  • Feed ideas back into the Locality Networks

The aim is to build communities that are self-supporting and resilient, working alongside statutory services to deliver social value and the goals of the Health and Care Strategy.

At the heart of this work is coproduction: communities help shape decisions, using evidence gathered from within those same communities.

We are currently looking for a volunteers to represent our locality network on the Social Value Forum Coordination Group for Llandrindod Wells & Rhayader, Ystradgynlais, Llanidloes and Knighton & Presteigne areas. Find out more here
