Thriving Welsh Communities – We’ve Launched our Manifesto

We’re excited to share that today marks the official launch of our new manifesto Thriving Welsh Communities.

It is the result of months of conversations, workshops, and collaboration with hundreds of people involved in community action across Wales, from Llanhilleth to Llangefni and Narberth to Shotton. It sets out the changes we collectively believe the next Welsh Government must make to unlock the full potential of community-led action.

Community groups play a vital role in supporting wellbeing, tackling inequality, building community cohesion and strengthening local economies. Yet, they often operate in a policy environment that offers limited support and inconsistent resourcing – with very varied experiences in the quality of partnership working with the public sector.

Our manifesto is built on a vision of Wales where community action is recognised, respected, and supported in an environment which:

  • appreciates and values community action
  • provides sustainable resourcing and supportive policies
  • trusts people in communities to know and to do what is right for them.

We invite you to explore the policy proposals in the manifesto and join us in turning them into reality. With the right support, community-led action can flourish, delivering lasting improvements in health, wellbeing, and economic resilience across Wales. Please share the manifesto and blog post with your networks, colleagues, and communities. The more voices we bring into this conversation, the stronger our case for change becomes.
