WCVA launching new fund for the voluntary sector in Wales
Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) has announced plans to establish a new independent fund designed to deliver long-term benefits for voluntary organisations across Wales.
Initially financed through WCVA’s own reserves, the fund will provide a permanent and independent source of support for the sector. It aims to help address the sustained financial pressures facing voluntary organisations, including over-subscribed short-term grant programmes, rising demand and increasingly complex needs, and the shortage of locally rooted, long-term funders.
The fund is underpinned by principles that ensure it will provide lasting value for communities across Wales.
