Citizens Advice Powys – Our Key Achievements April – June 2025
People – We continued to support people with their complex issues. 91% said they would not have been able to sort out their problem without our help.
1,022 people supported with 5,288 advice issues.
182 people supported with specialist debt or Welfare benefits casework.
£898k of debt managed on behalf of our clients.
£160k of debt written off.
£976k of benefit income secured.
Client – “The help and support we received was invaluable and very encouraging. My husband and myself could not have succeeded in what we needed to do to get a successful outcome for our problems. We were in despair and felt helpless to find out what we had to do. The support and encouragement we received was vital for us.”
Our Impact – People’s problems impact their physical and mental well-being. Our advice solves people’s problems, improves their finances and stabilises their situation. 76% of people we supported said that they felt less stressed, depressed or anxious and 52% said that our advice improved their physical health.
Client – “Everything I needed to know was explained very clearly. Pressure and anxiety was reduced greatly by the person assisting me, via their manner and understanding of my issues. I can’t thank them enough.”
Partners – We delivered our service in partnership with 29 different organisations across Powys, dealing with 141 formal referrals.
Places – We continued to deliver regular support in 10 different community venues countywide, as well as our office-based locations in Newtown, Brecon and Ystradgynlais. 84% of clients said they felt our service was accessible.
