PAVO supports Third Sector organisations working with children, young people and families through the work of its Development team, the Powys Volunteering Centre and through providing training opportunities.
PAVO no longer has a dedicated Children, Young People and Families Officer, due to funding cuts. This means that we can no longer support the third sector organisations by attending strategic networks and forums run by Powys County Council and the Health Board. We will no longer run the CYPF network meetings. This work to support third sector and statutory bodies to work more closely together on common issues has been a core PAVO function for many years. It has led to many positive outcomes. We regret having to cease this work.
PAVO staff can still support third sector organisations working with children and young people in the following ways:
Young people- If you need immediate help ring Childline on 0800 1111 or find out more on the Childline website- www.childline.org.uk . If it is an emergency, ring 999.
The PAVO Children and Young People's blog is no longer being updated, but relevant information is still being posted on this FaceBook page- https://www.facebook.com/ChildrenYoung-People-and-Families-in-Powys-1674963756127806/
